With ample onboard memory—including 512KB of SRAM, 384KB ROM, 2MB PSRAM, and 4MB Flash—this delivers serious processing power, ready to efficiently tackle even your most demanding applications. The IoTsmart ESP32-S3 module specifically incorporates Waveshare ESP32-S3-Mini.
What truly makes the ESP32-S3 (and by extension, our module) a transformative force is its robust wireless suite. With integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth® 5 (LE), you're equipped with reliable, versatile communication options right from the start.
Whether you're innovating in IoT, crafting smart home solutions, or deploying complex industrial controls, the IoTsmart ESP32-S3 seamlessly connects with our IoTextra series digital and analog expansion boards (mezzanines) via a 12-pin HOST connector. This connector includes I2C (SDA and SCL), 8 GPIO pins, and two power contacts (+5V and GND). We offer two options for HOST connector installation: when mounted on the top side, the IoTsmart ESP32-S3 installs vertically into the IoTextra series mezzanine; for modules with the HOST connector on the bottom side, it installs horizontally. Essentially, this module upgrades standard mezzanines into intelligent, programmable smart modules.
To improve configurability and user data storage, the IoTsmart ESP32-S3 module includes an 8Kbit EEPROM (1024x8 bit, M24C08 or compatible).
For easy use of the I2C interface, the module is equipped with Qwiic© connectors for seamless communication with other modules via the I2C bus. This connector supports the integration of external devices and sensors, with I2C pull-up resistors enabled by default.
Additionally, the IoTsmart ESP32-S3 module can be equipped with optional UART and AUX connectors.
The input power for the IoTsmart ESP32-S3 module is non-isolated +5VDC, which can be supplied via a JST connector.
For debugging, a Tiny Adaptor Board with Cable is required (not included; must be purchased separately).
