Note: Usage with IoTbase or horizontal-mounted IoTsmart versions (V-HOST connector) requires a Height Extender or a dedicated riser adapter.

Safety and Isolation

The galvanic isolation is individual for each relay:

The dielectric strength of the insulation is 4000Vrms (for one minute between the coil and the contacts).
It is 750Vrms (for one minute between the opened contacts).
Surge resistance between the coil and contacts is 8000V.

The module provides an indication of the relays' status.

Operational Modes

The IoTextra Relay2 module supports two operational modes:

GPIO Mode: Relay state control is managed using the AP0-AP3 signals on the HOST-P connector.
I²C Mode: Relay state control is managed via the serial I²C bus using an I/O expander (TCA9534 or compatible).

Scalability and Flexibility

Up to 16 modules can be connected to a single I²C bus.
It is also possible to use a hybrid control method: AP0-AP3 signals on the HOST-P connector can control some channels, while signals from the I/O expander control the rest.
