Discover new possibilities in connectivity and efficiency with our latest module, meticulously engineered around Espressif's newest ESP32-C6 microcontroller. This powerful System-on-Chip (SoC) isn't just a component; it's the core of a solution engineered to bring Wi-Fi 6 and multi-protocol wireless connectivity to embedded systems. This Open Source Design is a natural fit for Industrial IoT retrofits and smart-home automation — anywhere Wi-Fi 6's extra headroom lets a single access point reliably serve many connected devices at once.
Rich Wireless Suite: The IoTsmart ESP32-C6 is defined by its integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth® 5 (LE), and IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee 3.0 and Thread) — ensuring reliable, future-proof, and versatile connectivity out of the box, including a natural path to Matter.
Efficient Processing: At its core, it features a RISC-V 32-bit single-core processor, clocking in at up to 160 MHz, ready for modern IoT applications. With 512KB of HP SRAM, 320KB ROM, 16KB LP SRAM and 4MB Flash, this delivers efficient, low-power processing without compromising capability. The IoTsmart ESP32-C6 module specifically incorporates Waveshare ESP32-C6-Zero.
Key features of the module:
The HOST connector supports two mounting orientations, so you can match the mezzanine layout to your enclosure:
Combined with any IoTextra mezzanine, it turns a simple I/O board into a fully programmable, wirelessly connected smart module.
To improve configurability and user data storage, the IoTsmart ESP32-C6 module includes an onboard EEPROM (8Kbit or 16Kbit, M24C08-WMN6TP or AT24C08C-SSHM compatible).
For easy use of the I2C interface, the module is equipped with two Qwiic© connectors for seamless daisy-chaining with other modules via the I2C bus. This connector supports the integration of external devices and sensors, with I2C pull-up resistors enabled by default.
An onboard EYESPI connector adds plug-and-play support for popular LCDs and other displays using a standardized 18-pin FPC cable. Additionally, the IoTsmart ESP32-C6 module can be equipped with an optional UART connector.
The module includes a built-in USB Type-C connector, used directly for programming and power — unlike the previous-generation module, no external Adapter Board is required.
The input power for the IoTsmart ESP32-C6 module is non-isolated +5VDC, which can be supplied via a JST connector or directly through the onboard USB Type-C connector.
Applications
🌱 Balcony & Garden Irrigation
Autonomous drip irrigation on battery power — soil-moisture sensing via IoTextra Analog, zero-holding-current valve control via IoTextra Octal3. Runs with Tasmota.
🏭 Industrial Retrofit Monitoring
Wireless readout of legacy 4-20mA/0-10V transmitters without new cable runs. Use with Node-RED or IoTflow for data acquisition.
⚙️ Rotating Equipment Safety
Vibration and bearing-temperature monitoring with safety interlock and motor-contactor control, all on one IoTextra Omni module. Use with Node-RED or IoTflow.
